OVERVIEW
The Mississippi Triathlon Club is a group of triathletes, duathletes, and runners of all ages, abilities, and walks of life. MSTC was created to further the sport of endurance racing. We meet monthly and hold social events and training sessions throughout the year. As a club, we promote safe training and encourage all members to train at their level and enjoy the benefits of healthy living.
We have many training locations around the Jackson, MS Metro Area. Often training happens around the Ross Barnett Reservoir and the Natchez Trace Parkway. We use other local parks in the Jackson area with training options most days throughout the year.
While we have many seasoned racers, we are always looking for new members and new athletes looking to try the sport of triathlon, duathlon, and running. The goal of the club is to provide training activities, mutual support, friendly competition, experience, and camaraderie for all our athletes as well as having a social side for the club members. Also, as a club, we are looking to bring back a local race to the Jackson area. We are a not-for-profit organization run solely by volunteers. The club is committed to the goals of all athletes, be it veteran, newbie, sprint racer, or Ironman.
HISTORY
MS Triathlon Club was founded in January 2024. After previous clubs disappeared there were always a few athletes left in a parking lot wishing we had our social groups back! After enough wishing, we decided to make it happen and MS Triathlon Club was born. We would form a new club. As of May 2024, there were already 200 members on Facebook. In the end, Brittany and Risa came up with MS Triathlon Club and the rest is history.
